Music

I spent many years studying music and often incorporate original music into my current work. Below is a small but representative sample of music I have written for various projects over the years with brief descriptions and links to audio.

The History of California was a collaboration with the Group A Dance Company. In addition to editing video, I also wrote and recorded the background music:

Our Penultimate Year is radio series broadcast on Neighborhood Public Radio in San Francisco in 2006. The full series is four half-hour parts incorporating pre-recorded music with live dialogue and tells a complicated story about a man and woman who build an empire of influence and take over the world. Here are a few of my musical contributions to that:

Affordable Entertainment, the Independent TV Variety Show for which I was an editor, also gave me the opportunity to help create music videos and TV parodies. Here are some of those:

Men of Action is the title of a chamber opera I wrote as a grad student at Mills College in 2002. The piece served as my thesis in music composition. Here are audio excerpts from the live performanes:

From 1995-2000 I was a student at the Oberiln Conservatory of Music. Here is a sampling of music I wrote as a student there:
